A brilliant biopic of the influential German-Jewish philosopher and political theorist. Arendt's reporting on the 1961 trial of ex-Nazi Adolf Eichmann in The New Yorker, controversial both for her portrayal of Eichmann and the Jewish councils, introduced her now-famous concept of the 'Banality of Evil.' Tuesday's New DVD Releases

Here are the DVD releases for next Tuesday, 12 November 2013:

Abraham Lincoln
The revealing historical documentary The Assassination of Abraham Lincoln on DVD, the illustrated biography Abraham Lincoln: President and Icon, PLUS rare memorabilia including a reproduction of the earliest known draft of the Gettysburg Address. Few figures in American history have achieved such iconic status as Abraham Lincoln. Consistently rated by historians as the greatest president the country ever knew, Lincoln's life reflected the ideals and ethics of a nation.
The Attack
Amin Jaafari is an Israeli Palestinian surgeon, fully assimilated into Tel Aviv society. He has a loving wife, an exemplary career, and many Jewish friends. But his picture-perfect life is turned upside down when a suicide bombing in a restaurant leaves nineteen dead, and the Israeli police inform him that his wife Sihem, who also died in the explosion, was responsible. Convinced of her innocence, Amin abandons the relative security of his adopted homeland and enters the Palestinian territories.
Barbara
East Germany, 1980. Barbara Wolff is a young doctor who has applied for an exit visa from the GDR and, as punishment, has been transferred from her prestigious post in Berlin to a small pediatric hospital in the country. She must weigh her absolute dedication to her patients against a potential escape to the West, and her newfound attraction to a doctor in whom she sees a kindred spirit.
Blackfish
Killer whales are beloved as majestic, friendly giants yet infamous for their capacity to kill viciously. Blackfish unravels the complexities of this dichotomy, employing the story of the notorious performing whale Tilikum, who - unlike any orca in the wild - has taken the lives of several people while in captivity. Blackfish expands on the discussion of keeping such intelligent creatures in captivity.
The Citizen
A gripping tale of courage, love, and perseverance, revolving around a Middle Eastern man's dream to become an American citizen and the prejudice and barriers he faces on his journey to attain the American dream.
Deadliest Catch Season 8
Two skippers square off in a high stakes rivalry and the mysterious collapse of a deckhand summons a daring rescue at sea as an already vicious king crab season gets underway. A depleted fishery triggers restrictions that force captains to take huge gambles on remote and volatile fishing grounds to the far north while a violent arctic hurricane forecaster call 'The Storm of the Century' descends on the Bering Sea.
Dexter - The complete final season
Season eight begins six months after LaGuerta's murder, and Dexter is still managing life as a dad, brother, and serial killer. As Deb struggles to deal with the consequences of her actions, a mysterious woman comes to work with Miami Metro, offering first-hand information on Dexter's past.
Gettysburg and the Civil War
It was one of the great turning points in American history: a clash of ideologies from the political arena and on the battlefield, where over half a million lives were lost. The war between the Union and the Confederacy saw the country divided along geographical, racial and industrial lines, and few were spared the decision of where to pledge their loyalty. Communities were torn apart, families broken and cities destroyed. Now, travel back and experience the Civil War as never seen before.
Ip Man - The final fight
In postwar Hong Kong, legendary Wing Chun grandmaster Ip Man is reluctantly called into action once more. What began as simple challenges from rival kung fu schools soon finds him drawn into the dark and dangerous underworld of the Triads. Now, to defend life and honor, Ip Man has no choice but to fight, one last time.
Last Days of Man - Top 10 Doomsday Scenerios
A scientific examination of the top ten disasters that have the capacity to annihilate the human race-and it's not just the usual threats from nuclear weapons, climate change, and meteorite impacts. There are a number of lesser-known but much more probable risks to humankind-threats that humanity has created for itself.
Last Tango in Halifax - Season one
Childhood sweethearts Alan and Celia, both widowed and in their 70s, fall for each other all over again when they are reunited on the internet after nearly 60 years. Their relationship is a celebratory tale of the power of love at any age. But this is also a story about family, and with family comes baggage. Celia's respectable, head teacher daughter Caroline is juggling bringing up two boys and dealing with her husband's infidelity.
Man of Steel
A young boy learns that he has extraordinary powers and is not of this Earth. As a young man, he journeys to discover where he came from and what he was sent here to do. But the hero in him must emerge if he is to save the world from annihilation and become the symbol of hope for all mankind.
Paradise
After a nearly fatal accident, 21-year-old Lamb Mannerheim is beginning to realize that the world is much bigger than her small, God-fearing Montana town. Armed with a big, fat insurance payout and a checklist of untried sins, Las Vegas is the only place for her first taste of temptation. And, with the help of a few new friends, Lamb embarks on an oddball odyssey of lost souls, broken faith, and cheap cocktails.
Secrets if the Dead - JFK - One p.m. Central Standard Time
Fifty years after the tragic shooting of President John F. Kennedy, this program chronicles minute-by-minute the assassination as it was revealed in the CBS newsroom from the moment the President was shot until Walter Cronkite's emotional pronouncement of his death, one hour and eight minutes later. The title is taken from the time the President was declared dead at the hospital. Included in the program are moving memories from men and women who were there on the day-in Dallas and New York.
Silk - Series One
Martha Costello is a brilliant, passionate defense barrister with a reputation for defending the poor and downtrodden. She is about to embark on the next step of her career and apply to be a member of the highly prestigious Queen's Counsel. But she's not the only one at her chambers applying. Joining Martha is Clive Reader - charming and ruthless, funny, gifted, and dangerous. Only one is likely to be made QC, so how they perform in court is vital, and Clive knows how to play the game.
Stan Lee' Superhumans - Season 2
Throughout history, the forces of evolution and genetic mutation have endowed humans with astonishing new abilities and features. Co-hosted by Stan Lee, the legendary creator of the X-Men, the series scours the globe for the real-life counterparts of Lee's characters, people with unique genetic traits that translate into remarkable powers. These include a Shaolin monk with an unbreakable body, a man who may be the greatest jumper in the world, and another who can control sharks.
Turbo
After a freak accident, a garden snail with dreams of becoming the fastest snail in the world might just realize his goal.
