Save Money at the Library - Entertainment

Money Saving Tips From Your Library

With all that is happening in the economy today, many people are looking for ways to save money. Sometimes it is hard to let go of many of the things we have grown accustomed to having, but budget constraints have left all of us looking for ways to cut back. In the next few weeks, I am going to offer some helpful tips that will allow you to save money and not cut back on the things you enjoy.

Tip #3
Entertainment

How do you keep the kids entertained or attend educational events without extending your budget? Attend programs at the library!

There are lots of activities to choose from. You can take classes, attend workshops, attend story times and watch movies, dance and theatrical performances.

To check what programs we have, follow these simple instructions;

1. Go to our homepage, lvccld.org

2. Click on "Events and Exhibits”

3. Under “Event Type,” and select the type of program you're interested in

4. Under “Library Branch,” select the library you prefer. (To see all the libraries that have this event, leave “All” selected)

5. Click search

You can also see all events throughout the Library District by leaving “All” selected in each category and then clicking “Search.” This will give you a list of upcoming library-sponsored and community events. Each event is shown in chronological order, with the most recent event listed first.

Now that you have found something that you would like to attend, now what? Simply click on the title of the event to find out more information. Here are a few upcoming events that will be great for the entire family, “Valentiney” Pajama Story time, Southern Nevada Old Time Contra Dancers: English country dance class, Family Finances, UNLV Jazz Concert Series and “Petstacular” Pet Fair.

Do you think this is a good tip? If so, just let us know. We are looking for ways to save you money, so you don't have to lose out on the things you enjoy. Make sure you check back next week for the fourth tip.
