CD Spotlight - Leona Lewis - Spirit

Title: Leona Lewis
Author: SpiritMedia type: Sound Recording
Genre: R&B/ Popular

A striking young woman with a strong vocal resemblance to the young Whitney Houston and a large mop of blonde corkscrew curls, Leona Lewis won the third series of the British reality talent show The X Factor in a landslide.

Born and raised in the Islington section of north London, Lewis won a talent show at the age of 13 and devoted herself to music thereafter, eventually graduating from the prestigious BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology. While working as a receptionist and pizza waitress and writing her own material, Lewis auditioned for The X Factor in the summer of 2006 and won the third series competition in December of that year.

By the end of 2007, she had launched her debut album, Spirit, in England, and watched it go to the top of the charts along with the single Bleeding Love. The American release followed in 2008, with similar success. (Retrieved, 1/4/10)

Although Leona Lewis has been arounf for only a short period of time, she has shown strenght and so much passion is her writing and singing, which is why she is a favorite. I love her song, Better in Time. This song makes you realize that there is a light at the end of the tunnel and that those darker days makes us who we are today. Hope you enjoy as much as I have. This is from the middle of the song, so make sure you check out the entire song by visiting her website. Also, make sure you reserve your copy of Echo, which will be released soon.

Better in Time
Thought i couldn't live without you
It's going to hurt when it heals too
Oh yeaah (It'll All get Better in Time)
Even though i really love you I'm gonna smile because i deserve too
Oooh(It'll all get better in time)

I could of turned on the TV
Without something that would remind me
Was it all that easy'
To just put us out your feeling

Let us know why she is one of your favorites, or tell us about another song you enjoy from any of her CDs.
