Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Month Celebration

Please join the Las Vegas Clark County Library District as we celebrate GLBT Pride Month. The month of June was chosen in 1992 to honor the anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall Riot in New York City.

We will be having Events all month that you can participate in. Some of them include an author visit from Augusten Burroughs, who wrote Running with Scissors, a tribute show by Frank Marino and a live performace of the play Hedwig and the Angry Inch.

We have also sceduled a number of movies to celebrate the GLBT theme. Some of them include Milk, about Harvey Milk, the openly gay activist and San Francisco politician who was murdered along with mayor George Moscone by disgruntled city employee Dan White in 1978 as well as The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert!

As I highlighted in a previous post we also have an infoguide available for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender topics that is a great resource.

I hope you join us for some of these great events!
