Summer Reading Program for Teens

This year's program is called Express Yourself @ the Library and it starts tomorrow! There are going to be a ton of things to do all summer long at libraries all over the district! You can start now by designing a bookmark. The winning design will be produced and distributed in all District branches during Teen Read Week in October...very cool huh?

On June 1st you will be able to download your Reading log and then let the reading begin. For every five books or five hours that you read, you can select a prize from the Teen Summer Reading Program treasure chest. Complete 20 hours or 20 books to earn your final prize and a chance to win the Grand Prize, a $50 Target gift card. A Grand Prize winner will be drawn at each of our 24 branches.

Did you know that you can also read books online or listen to eAudio books or watch eVideos from our eBooks To Go site. Ender's Game is one of my favorites and it is available both in audio and dowloadable book form.

Some of the activities we are planning include Get Your Game on with the XBox 360 and Wii games, Yu-Gi-Oh! Summer Tournament and a Reader's Theater, which allows you to practice your acting skills!

I know you are going to have a blast doing all these fun things, so be sure to stop into your favorite branch to get more information! Have a great summer!!
