Library Classes - Computers

Ack!! You just got a new job and the boss says, “Can you please type this up in a Word document for me.” And your daughter wants you to email her all the news about your new job as well as show you pictures of your grandson playing in the school band concert. But, but, how do I do all that?!

If this sounds like you or you are just interested in learning more basics about computers and haven’t had the resources to do so, let me tell you about the classes that we offer for free!

We have very basic “101” Classes that we offer under the Seniors section of the website and they are open to any adult. The classes include Computers 101 for people who have never owned a computer, Word Processing, Internet and Email. These classes travel from library to library and the instructor is very patient and kind. You will feel comfortable asking about anything that is giving you trouble.

The district also offers some more advanced Computer Classes at the libraries with computer labs. These classes require a little more experience. They include Introduction to Databases, Introduction to the Internet, Applying for Jobs I & II, Downloading e-Media, Publisher 101, and Resumes.

All of these classes start accepting registration on the 1st of the preceding month. For example if the class is in June, you can register starting May 1st. They are all very popular, so be sure to sign up early!
